📐 Formula Reference

Feed Rate Calculation:
Feed Rate (mm/min) = Chip Load (mm/tooth) × RPM × Number of Flutes
Chip Load from Feed Rate:
Chip Load (mm/tooth) = Feed Rate (mm/min) ÷ (RPM × Number of Flutes)
Tool Engagement Adjustment:
Chip load is adjusted based on radial depth of cut (tool engagement):
  • • ≤10% engagement: +50% chip load (light cuts)
  • • ≤25% engagement: +30% chip load
  • • ≤50% engagement: +10% chip load
  • • ≤75% engagement: -5% chip load
  • • ≥95% engagement: -15% chip load (full slotting)
