Our original, retro-inspired booths issue instant, photo lab quality prints in both color and black and white, producing two 2 x 6 inch strips of three pics per ‘session’. Photos are taken with automated Canon DSLR’s, and the booth comes with a courtesy kit full of awesome props such as feather boas, goofy glasses, kooky hats and witty signs. Soft box lighting also ensures everyone looks their best and most glammed up in shots. Guests simply grab a prop and strike a pose! Corporate clients also love our booths, which can be wrapped in custom graphics (vinyl) to match the look and feel of your brand. Services Retro Photo Booth delivers, handles the set up and break down of your booth. We recommend placing the booth in an accessible location that’s away from the hustle and bustle of centre stage, promising that guests will sniff it out in their own good time. Booth attendants (aka ‘Boothers’) are on hand during the duration of photo shoot festivities (usually about 2-3 hours), offering technical and wardrobe assistance. You can also add logos and personalized message to each printed photo strip. How It All Started The Original Retro Photo Booth Company was founded in Stellenbosch in early 2011. Its originator, Stefano di Trapani, was at the time a student at the local university, and young man with a strong entrepreneurial spirit. The idea to start a photo booth business was that of his trusted sidekick, Juante (aka The Girlfriend), who was from a far away land (aka Port Elizabeth) where photo booths were becoming the must-have party accessory. After seeing what all the fuss was about, and doing some market research, Stefano quickly realised it had huge business potential, and set about designing and making his own customized booths. These proved a massive hit and the rest, as they say, is history. (Though in our business, we also ‘say cheese’ a lot!) Stefano and Juante also began to make contact with various parties who spread the business farther afield. While Stefano has subsequently sold on the business, we still honour the business savvy and chutzpah of our founder.
